Description

The iliac tuberosity is the rough, superiorly located area of the sacropelvic surface of ilium. It is an area that is bounded:

—anteriorly, by the medial border of ilium;

—posterosuperiorly, by the iliac crest;

—inferiorly, by the auricular surface of ilium.

The iliac tuberosity provides attachment sites for the posterior and interosseous sacroiliac ligaments.
