Description

The intercondylar line is the horizontal ridge on the posterior aspect of the distal end of the femur. It extends from the medial condyle of femur to the lateral condyle.

The intertrochanteric line provides an attachment site for the capsular ligaments of the knee joint and the oblique popliteal ligament.
