Description

The intermediate (second, or middle) cuneiform articular facet is the flat, triangular, centrally located area found on the distal articular surface of the navicular bone. It is one of the three facets found on the distal articular surface of the navicular bone, the other two being the medial and lateral cuneiform articular facets.

The intermediate cuneiform articular facet of navicular bone articulates with the proximal articular surface of the intermediate cuneiform bone, contributing to the formation of the cuneonavicular joint.
