Description

The intermediate zone of iliac crest is the rough area found along the ventral region of the iliac crest. It is bounded by the inner and outer lips and is narrow in the middle portion and wider at both its anterior and posterior ends.

The intermediate zone of iliac crest provides an origin site for the internal abdominal oblique muscle.
