Description

The lateral border (axillary margin or border) of scapula is the thick, laterally located edge of the bone. It extends from the lateral angle of the scapula to its inferior angle. It is one of three borders of the scapula, the other two being the superior and medial borders.

The lateral border of scapula provides origin sites for the teres major and teres minor muscles.
