Description
The lateral epicondyle (external epicondyle) of humerus is the projection found at the distal end of the lateral supracondylar ridge. It is less prominent than the medial epicondyle of the humerus.
The lateral epicondyle provides origin sites for the superficial group of muscles of the posterior compartment of forearm and the supinator and anconeus muscles. It also provides an attachment site for the radial collateral ligament.
