Description

The lateral surface of radius is the convex area on the posterolateral aspect of the body of the radius. It is one of the three surfaces of the body of the radius, the other two being the anterior and posterior surfaces. It is an area that is bounded:

—anterolaterally, by the anterior border of radius;

—posteriorly, by the posterior border of radius.

The lateral surface of radius provides insertion sites for the supinator and pronator teres muscles.
