Description

The lunate articular facet is the flat, proximally located area on the medial aspect of the scaphoid bone. It articulates with the scaphoid articular facet of the lunate bone, forming the scapholunate joint. It also provides an attachment site for the scapholunate interosseous ligament, which connects the scaphoid and lunate bones.
