Description

The medial (first) cuneiform articular facet is the flat, triangular, medially located area found on the distal articular surface of the navicular bone. It is the largest of the three facets found on the distal articular surface of the navicular bone, the other two being the intermediate and lateral cuneiform articular facets.

The medial cuneiform articular facet of navicular bone articulates with the proximal articular surface of the medial cuneiform bone, contributing to the formation of the cuneonavicular joint.
