Description

The medial supracondylar line (medial supracondylar ridge, medial supracondyloid line, or medial epicondyloid line) is the margin located along the lower posteromedial aspect of the body of femur. It is the less distinct of the two supracondylar lines, the other being the lateral supracondylar line. It is the inferior continuation of the medial lip of linea aspera, extends to the adductor tubercle, and separates the popliteal and medial surfaces of femur.

The medial supracondylar line provides an origin site for the vastus medialis muscle, and an insertion site for the adductor magnus muscle.
