Description

The medial tubercle of talus is the medially located prominence found on the posterior process of talus. It is the smaller of the two tubercles that make up the posterior process of talus, the other being the lateral tubercle of talus. These two tubercles are separated from each other by the groove for tendon of flexor hallucis longus muscle.

The medial tubercle of talus provides an attachment site for the medial talocalcaneal ligament.
