Description

The middle talar articular surface (middle facet for talus, or middle talar articular facet) is the oval, concave area found along the dorsal surface of the sustentaculum tali of calcaneus. It’s one of the three facets on the calcaneus that articulates with the talus, the other two being the anterior and posterior talar articular facets.

The middle talar articular facet articulates with the middle calcaneal articular facet of the talus, contributing to the formation of the talocalcaneonavicular joint.
