Description

The obturator groove (sulcus) is the wide, shallow depression found along the inferior aspect of the superior pubic ramus. It extends, anteromedially, across the pelvic surface, inferior border, and obturator surface of the superior pubic ramus.

The obturator groove is converted into the obturator canal by the upper margin of the obturator membrane. This canal allows for the passage of the obturator nerve and vessels.
