Description

The palmar surface is the rough, non-articular, anterior aspect of the hamate bone. It contains the hook of hamate bone and provides origin sites for the flexor digiti minimi brevis and opponens digiti minimi muscles. It also provides attachment sites for the:

—flexor retinaculum of hand;

—pisohamate ligament;

—palmar carpometacarpal ligaments;

—capitohamate ligament;

—triquetrohamate ligament.
