Description

The pectineal surface is the triangular area on the anterosuperior aspect of the superior pubic ramus. It extends from the pubic tubercle to the iliopubic eminence. It is one of the three surfaces of the superior pubic ramus, the other two being the obturator and pelvic surfaces, and it is an area that is bounded:

—anteriorly, by the obturator crest;

—posteriorly, by the pecten pubis.

Its medial end is continuous with the crest of pubis, and its lateral end is continuous with the iliac fossa.

The pectineal surface of superior pubic ramus provides an origin site for the pectineus muscle.
