Read moreDescription
The pelvic surface of superior pubic ramus is the smooth, concave area on the posterior aspect of this part of the bone. It is one of the three surfaces of the superior pubic ramus, the other two being the obturator and pectineal surfaces, and it is an area that is bounded:
—superiorly, by the pecten pubis;
—inferiorly, by the inferior border of superior pubic ramus.
Its medial end is continuous with the posterior surface of body of pubis, and its lateral end is continuous with both the sacropelvic surface of ilium and pelvic surface of body of ischium.
The pelvic surface of superior pubic ramus consists of part of the obturator groove, which also extends along the inferior border and obturator surface of the superior pubic ramus.
