Description

The posterior border of fibula is the margin located along the posterolateral aspect of the bone. It is one of the three borders of the fibula, the other two being the anterior and interosseous borders, and it separates the lateral and posterior surfaces of the fibula.

The posterior border extends inferiorly from the posterior aspect of the head of fibula to the malleolar groove of fibula, with its proximal end being less distinct than its distal end. It provides an attachment site for the posterior intermuscular septum of leg.
