Description

The posterior calcaneal articular facet (posterior facet for calcaneus, or posterior calcaneal articular surface) is the large, oval, concave area found along the inferior aspect of the body of the talus. It’s one of the three facets on the talus that articular with the calcaneus, the other two being the anterior and middle calcaneal articular facets.

The posterior calcaneal articular facet articulates with the posterior talar articular facet of the calcaneus, forming the subtalar joint.
