Description

The posterior surface of radius is the flat area on the posteromedial aspect of the body of the radius. It is one of the three surfaces of the body of the radius, the other two being the anterior and lateral surfaces. It is an area that is bounded:

—anteromedially, by the interosseous border of radius;

—posteriorly, by the posterior border of radius.

The posterior surface of radius provides origin sites for the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis muscles.
