Description

The posterior talar articular facet (posterior facet for talus, or posterior talar articular surface) is the large, oval area found along the dorsal surface of the calcaneus. It’s one of the three facets on the calcaneus that articulates with the talus, the other two being the anterior and middle talar articular facets.

The posterior talar articular facet articulates with the posterior calcaneal articular facet of the talus, contributing to the formation of the talocalcaneonavicular joint.
