Description

The pubic crest (crest of pubis) is the thick, rounded, superior border of the body of pubis. Its lateral end consists of a small raised eminence, known as the pubic tubercle. It contributes to the formation of the linea terminalis (pelvic brim), which is a distinct ridge that separates the greater pelvis from the lesser pelvis.

The pubic crest provides origin sites for the rectus abdominis and pyramidalis muscles, as well as an attachment site for the superior pubic ligament.
