Description

The third metatarsal articular facet is the oval, medially located area on the distal articular surface of the lateral cuneiform bone. It is larger of the two articular facets found on the distal articular surface of the lateral cuneiform bone, the other being the fourth metatarsal articular facet.

It articulates with the proximal articular facet of the third metatarsal bone, contributing to the formation of the tarsometatarsal joints.
