Description

The triquetrum articular facet is the quadrilateral, medially located area found on the distal surface of the lunate bone. It is one of the three facets found on the distal surface of the lunate bone, the other two being the hamate and capitate articular facets.

The triquetrum articular facet articulates with the lunate articular facet of the triquetrum bone, forming the lunotriquetral joint. It also provides an attachment site for the lunotriquetral interosseous ligament, which connects the lunate and triquetrum bones.
