Description

The trochlear (semilunar) notch is the large concave area found on the anterosuperior aspect of the proximal part of ulna. It consists of two articular portions:

—the proximal articular portion is found on the anterior aspect of the olecranon;

—the distal articular portion is found on the superior aspect of the coronoid process.

The trochlear notch articulates with the trochlea of humerus, forming the humeroulnar joint, contributing to the formation of the elbow joint.
