Description
The angles of mandible (mandibular angles or gonial angles) are the two corners found along the posteroinferior aspects of both the right and left rami of the mandible. On its corresponding side, each angle of mandible:
—is located at the point where the posterior and inferior borders of the ramus of mandible meet;
—consists of the gonion;
—provides an insertion site for the masseter and medial pterygoid muscles;
—provides an attachment site for the stylomandibular ligament.
