Anterior Border of Horizontal Plate of Palatine Bone

Description

The anterior border (anterior margin) is the serrated margin found along the frontal aspect of the horizontal plate of palatine bone. It extends laterally from the palatine crest to the junction between the perpendicular and horizontal plates.

The anterior border separates the nasal and palatine surfaces of the horizontal plate and articulates with the palatine process of the maxilla on its corresponding side, contributing to the formation of the transverse palatine suture.
