Description

The anterior surface is the area found along the frontal aspect of the body of sphenoid bone. The anterior surface of the body of sphenoid bone:

—consists of the sphenoidal crest, two sphenoidal conchae and two openings for the sphenoidal sinuses;

—articulates with the posterior aspect of the ethmoid bone, forming the sphenoethmoidal suture, and both the right and left palatine bones;

—contributes to the formation of both the right and left nasal cavities.
