Description

The body is the horizontal, quadrilateral, centrally located part of the hyoid bone. It is continuous:

—posterolaterally, with both the right and left greater horns of hyoid bone;

—superolaterally, with both the right and left lesser horns of hyoid bone.

The body of hyoid bone consists of anterior and posterior surfaces, and superior and inferior borders.
