The buccal cusp is the inferiorly located, pointed elevation found along the buccal aspect of the crown of maxillary first premolar tooth. It is one of the two cusps of this tooth, the other being the lingual cusp, and they are separated from each other by the central groove.
The buccal cusp consists of both mesiobuccal and distobuccal cusp ridges and a triangular ridge. The triangular ridges of both the buccal and lingual cusps combine to form the transverse ridge of this tooth.
