Description

The coccygeal horn (cornu) is the horn-like projection located at the superior end of the dorsal surface of coccyx. It is formed by the remnant of the superior articular process of the first coccygeal vertebra. It articulates with its corresponding sacral horn and provides an attachment site for the intercornual ligament.

Overall, the coccyx has two coccygeal horns, one on its right side and one on its left side.
