Description

The coronoid processes are the two triangular, anterosuperiorly located projections found along the superior aspect of the mandible. On its corresponding side, each coronoid process:

—is located anterior to a condylar process;

—is continuous inferiorly with a ramus of mandible;

—consists of a temporal crest of mandible;

—provides an insertion site for a temporalis muscle.
