Description

The dorsal surface (posterior surface) of sacrum is the rough, convex, posterior aspect of the bone. It consists of the posterior sacral foramina, sacral hiatus, sacral cornua, and the median, intermediate, and lateral sacral crests.

The dorsal surface of sacrum provides origin sites for the longissimus thoracis and multifidus muscles.
