Description
The groove (sulcus) for subclavian vein is a shallow depression located on the middle part of the superior surface of the first rib. It lies immediately anterior to the scalene tubercle, while the groove for the subclavian artery is located posterior to this tubercle.
This groove lodges the subclavian vein.
