Description
The head of twelfth rib is the round, expanded, posterior part of the bone. Due to the absence of a neck on the twelfth rib, its head is continuous laterally with its shaft.
It consists of a single articular facet, which articulates with the body of the twelfth thoracic vertebra, forming the joint of the head of the twelfth rib.
