Description
The inferior border (lower border) of twelfth rib is its sharp lower edge. It lies immediately inferior to the costal groove, which itself is located on the ribs inner surface. It is one of the two borders of the body of the twelfth rib, the other being the superior border.
The inferior border of twelfth rib and provides origin site for the external abdominal oblique muscle, an insertion site for the quadratus lumborum muscle, and an attachment site for the lateral arcuate ligament.
