Description

The inferior surface (lower surface) of first rib is one of the two surfaces of its body, the other being the superior surface. Unlike the other eleven ribs, which have internal and external surfaces, the unique orientation of the first rib gives it superior and inferior surfaces. The inferior surface of first rib is a smooth area that is covered by endothoracic fascia.
