Description

The inferior tubercles are the small, inferiorly projecting prominences found on the posteroinferior aspects of the transverse processes of the twelfth thoracic vertebra. They are one of three pairs of tubercles found on the twelfth thoracic vertebra, the other two being the lateral and superior tubercles.

The inferior tubercles are the thoracic equivalents to the accessory processes of the lumbar vertebrae.
