Description

The lambda is a craniometric point found along the midline on the posterior aspect of the cranium. It is formed by the occipital bone and the right and left parietal bones and is located at the area where the sagittal and lambdoid sutures meet.

The lambda is the location site for the posterior fontanelle in infants.
