Description

The lateral surface (orbital surface) is the superiorly located area found along the lateral aspect of the lacrimal bone. The lateral wall of lacrimal bone:

—consists of the posterior lacrimal crest and the superior portion of the lacrimal groove;

—provides an origin site for the orbicularis oculi muscle;

—contributes to the formation of the medial wall of the orbital cavity.
