Description

The orbital margin (orbital border) is the smooth, concave, anterosuperiorly located border of the maxilla. It separates the anterior and orbital surfaces of the zygomatic bone.

The orbital margin of maxilla:

—consists of the anterior lacrimal crest:

—contributes to the formation of the infraorbital margin;

—provides an origin site for the orbicularis oculi muscle and an attachment site for the medial palpebral ligament.
