Description

The orbital surface is the smooth area found along the superior aspect of the maxilla. It is one of five surfaces of the maxilla, the other four being the anterior, infratemporal, nasal and palatine surfaces.

The orbital surface consists of the infraorbital groove and contributes to the formation of the floor of the orbit. It provides an origin site for the inferior oblique muscle.
