Description

The parietal border (parietal margin or superior border) is the curved, beveled, superiorly located margin of the squamous part of temporal bone. It is one of the two borders of the squamous part of temporal bone, the other being the sphenoidal border.

The parietal border:

—extends posteriorly from the sphenoidal border of the squamous part to the parietal border of the mastoid part of temporal bone;

—articulates with the squamosal border of the parietal bone, forming the squamous suture.
