Description

The pterygospinous processes are the two small, pointed, posteriorly projecting processes found along the posterior aspects of both the right and left lateral plates of the pterygoid processes of sphenoid bone. On its corresponding side, each pterygospinous process provides an attachment site for a pterygospinous ligament.
