Description

The sacral horn (cornu) is the horn-like projection found along the inferior end of the dorsal surface of the sacrum. The sacrum has two sacral horns, one on its right side and one on its left side, and the sacral hiatus is located in between these.

The sacral horn is formed by the inferior articular tubercle of the fifth sacral vertebra, which is a remnant of its inferior articular process. It articulates with the coccyx at its coccygeal horn and provides an attachment site for the intercornual ligament.
