Description

The sphenoidal crest (crest of sphenoid bone) is the vertical ridge found along the midline on the anterior surface of the body of sphenoid bone. The sphenoidal crest:

—is continuous superiorly with the ethmoidal spine and continuous inferiorly with the sphenoidal rostrum;

—is located medial to both the right and left sphenoidal conchae;

—contributes to the formation of the nasal septum;

—articulates with the perpendicular plate of the ethmoid bone, contributing to the formation of the sphenoethmoidal suture.
