Read moreDescription
The superior annular epiphysis (superior epiphyseal ring) is the raised, smooth, saddle-shaped, outer edge on the upper aspect of the body of the seventh cervical vertebra.
Overall, the superior and inferior annular epiphyses provide attachment sites for the intervertebral discs. Adjacent vertebral bodies articulate with each other via intervertebral discs, forming the intervertebral symphysis joints.
