Read moreDescription
The superior articular processes (superior zygapophyses) are the two upwardly projecting processes located at the lateral parts of the vertebral arch of a typical cervical vertebra. They extend from the junction between the pedicles and laminae. Overall, the superior articular processes of typical cervical vertebrae generally consist of superior articular facets that face posterosuperiorly. They articulate with the inferior articular processes of the vertebra above, forming zygapophyseal joints.
