Description
The superior border (upper border) of eighth rib is its blunt, smooth upper edge. It is one of the two borders of the body of the eighth rib, the other being the inferior border. It consists of inner and outer lips:
—The inner lip provides insertion sites for the internal and innermost intercostal muscles.
—The outer lip provides an insertion site for the external intercostal muscles.
