Description

The temporal border (temporal margin) is the smooth, posterosuperiorly located margin of the zygomatic bone. It extends posteroinferiorly from the frontal process to the temporal process of the zygomatic bone and is continuous:

—superiorly, with the temporal line of the frontal bone;

—posteriorly, with the superior margin of the zygomatic process of temporal bone.

The temporal border of zygomatic bone provides an attachment site for the temporal fascia and contributes to the formation of the anteroinferior boundary of the temporal fossa.
