Description

The zygomatic process (malar process) is the thick, rough, lateral projection found along the superolateral aspect of the maxilla. The zygomatic process:

—is continuous medially with the body of maxilla;

—articulates with the maxillary process of zygomatic bone, forming the zygomaticomaxillary suture;

—contributes to the formation of the floor of the orbit.
